ASME SA832 Gr. 23V covers the specific chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel plates intended primarily for the fabrication of welded pressure vessels. The steel shall be killed and shall conform to the fine grain size requirement. All plates shall undergo normalization and tempering. Heat and product analyses shall be conducted and the steel shall conform to the prescribed chemical composition in carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, titanium, boron, and copper. Tension and notch toughness testing shall be performed on the material and shall meet the required mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation.
ASME SA832 Gr. 23V is a kind of Cr-Mo-V alloy steel plates material used to fabric pressure vessels. SA832 is divided into three grades or levels : SA832 Grade 21V, SA832 Grade 22V, SA832 Grade 23V.
